From incredible yet humble beginnings, Tumblar has built its impeccable credibility and world class reputation focusing on collaboration, utmost attention to quality and all aspects of manufacturing modernisation with its unshakable commitment to customer service in NZ and around the world. A pioneering spirit and Kiwi can do attitude continues to run through the DNA of Tumblar for over 40 years.
The story of NZ and its culture that steeps in ‘Let’s do attitude’ and world famous humble Kiwi ingenuity resonates with one of Tumblar – the company was founded on the essence of Kiwi spirit and its relentless commitment to giving it a go. Our new company logo reflects our New Zealand background, Kiwi spirit, fresh thinking and our beautiful environments surrounded by the South Pacific Ocean.
From an engineering background, John went on to set up production of antistatic fabric softeners for Fisher & Paykel tumbler dryers, and as a result Tumblar was born in 1981.
Since its inception, Tumblar has gone from strength to strength over many years by modernising, acquiring new premises, building new cutting edge manufacturing facilities, expanding its teams and customer base that now spreads all around the world from the Netherlands to the USA, Asia and Australia.

Registration
The name “Tumblar Products” is registered
1981
Anti-Static softener
The first Tumblar Anti-Static Softener Pads are produced for the New Zealand Market
1985
First Factory
Tumblar opens a new factory on the corner of Shakespeare road and Thackeray Street
Tumblar starts producing toilet blocks
1988
Second Factory
John opens a second factory on the corner of Durham and Walker Street to keep up with the extra customer demand
1992
EXPANSION
Tumblar moves to a bigger plant in Wickham Street and extends its production facilities welcoming new FMCG customers
2002
First GMP factory
Tumblar moves into a bigger factory on Ferry Road to accommodate the growing customer base. They build the first GMP factory and start producing personal care ranges for export.
2010
Bigger Plant
Because of rapid growth Tumblar has to move into an even a bigger plant in Pages Road
2011
Earthquake
Christchurch has a Major Earthquake; this results in a need to move

Tumblar moves to the latest plant in Halswell Junction road
